Aice Drives Indonesian Woodball Forward with Strong Support for Athletes

Woodball may not yet be as popular as badminton or football, but the spirit of its athletes is just as strong in bringing pride to the nation. This was proven when Indonesia successfully hosted the 13th Asian Cup Woodball Championship 2025 at JSI Resort, Bogor, while also making history by securing the Overall Champion title.

The Indonesian National Woodball Team achieved an outstanding feat, collecting 12 gold, 10 silver, and 7 bronze medals—far surpassing the initial target of seven golds.

This international championship, which gathered 213 athletes from nine Asian countries, was a key milestone for Indonesia. Beyond showcasing athlete quality, hosting such a prestigious event also highlighted the growing recognition of woodball on the global stage.

Behind this success lies consistent support from the private sector. Aice Group, as the Official Ice Cream Partner of the Indonesia Woodball Association (IWbA), served as the main sponsor of both the 13th Asian Cup Woodball Championship 2025 and the Aice 7th Indonesia Open Woodball 2025, held consecutively on August 19–24 in Bogor.

Sylvana Zhong, Senior Brand Manager of Aice, emphasized that the company’s involvement goes beyond sponsorship, representing a long-term vision to strengthen Indonesia’s sports ecosystem.

“Woodball may not yet be as popular as other sports, but we see its huge potential. Indonesia has proven its strength on the Asian stage, and with continued support, this sport can go global. Athletes should not have to fight alone—the private sector must play a role too,” said Sylvana.

Aang Sunadji, Chairman of PB IWbA, expressed his appreciation for the national team’s achievements:

“At first, our target was only seven golds, but the team won 12 golds and emerged as overall champion, surpassing Chinese Taipei in second place with 6 gold, 8 silver, and 4 bronze, as well as China in third with 2 silver medals. What made us even prouder was hearing Indonesia Raya played repeatedly before the world,” said Aang.

Indonesia also closed the Aice 7th Indonesia Open Woodball 2025 with remarkable results, sweeping all seven gold medals contested. These achievements further cement Indonesia’s position as one of Asia’s woodball powerhouses.

Raja Sapta Oktohari, Chairman of the Indonesian NOC, underlined the broader significance:

“Being both the host and overall champion, Indonesia has shown the rapid growth of woodball. This is a strategic momentum ahead of the Thailand SEA Games 2025, and also a major opportunity to bring woodball into the Asian Games,” he said.

Aice’s strong support as the ice cream of choice for Team Indonesia, especially in woodball, is not new in the national sports arena. From the beginning, Aice has positioned itself as a brand that cares about healthy lifestyles and physical activity.

From football, badminton, Wing Chun, to volleyball and beyond, Aice has consistently encouraged people to stay active—not only through its refreshing products but also through engaging campaigns.

“We see tremendous potential for woodball to become a sport that brings pride to the nation. Through this support, Aice aims to help woodball gain greater recognition and motivate athletes to keep achieving,” added Sylvana.

Aice’s support is not only financial but also psychological and moral, showing athletes that they are not fighting alone.

“Woodball Indonesia is a sport worth fighting for. Our athletes are carrying the nation’s pride, and they need to feel supported, recognized, and appreciated. That’s why Aice is here—to ensure they remain confident, motivated, and proud of their journey,” said Sylvana.

During the championship, Aice also introduced its new product, Crispy Ball Cookies & Cream, which received warm appreciation and became a favorite among athletes from various countries. This reflects not only the deliciousness of Indonesian ice cream but also its role in representing the nation globally while promoting a healthy and spirited lifestyle.

Through close collaboration between athletes, federations, and private sector partners like Aice, woodball is now gaining greater recognition internationally. Looking ahead, Indonesia’s ambition is not only to remain an Asian champion but to make Indonesian Woodball number one in the world.
