Aice Year-End Surprise Giveaway with Prizes Worth Hundreds of Millions
KABARINDO, JAKARTA – Aice Group, a leading ice cream brand in Southeast Asia, has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the development of Indonesia's youth in sports through its participation in the SenengMinton Festival 2024.
Held at GOR Djarum, Jati, Kudus, until Sunday (December 15, 2024), the event was a collective effort to develop talented young athletes in the sport of badminton.
This year, the Aice-supported festival marked its second participation in 2024, setting a record for the highest level of participation. No less than 920 participants took part in the badminton and supporter competitions. There were 360 elementary school students from 24 schools competing in various badminton skill-based events, and 200 preschool children from 10 schools engaged in interactive play competitions, all present in Kudus. Additionally, 360 other students participated as supporters.
The competition format of the SenengMinton Festival combined both competition and education, with students from grades 1 to 3 of elementary school participating in various badminton skill categories across six events: Service to Target, Shuttle Run, Pyramid Shuttlecock, Throwing the Shuttlecock, Zig Zag Run, Run, and Shadow.
As a form of appreciation and to bring joy to the participants and supporters, Aice distributed thousands of its newest Aice Mochi variants, Aice Mochi Banana and Aice Mochi Peach, to the audience and participants during the festival. Aice also awarded exclusive prizes to the winners in each category.
Sylvana, Senior Brand Manager of Aice Group, emphasized that Aice’s involvement in the festival is a tangible expression of the company’s commitment to various popular sports. This support is part of the company's ongoing effort to develop the main sports that are embraced by Indonesian society.
“We see the SenengMinton Festival as a smart starting point for producing talented youth in the world of badminton. We hope that the collective efforts of many parties like this will ensure a steady supply of outstanding young athletes who will bring Indonesia’s name to the international stage. The joy of this festival is also dedicated to inspiring the public to love sports and lead a healthy lifestyle,” said Sylvana.
The Importance of Developing Young Badminton Talent
Just like its support for football, Aice also supports the early and systematic development of young athletes in badminton. According to Sylvana, talent development is the key to achieving success at the international level. Aice views sports achievements not as magic but as a process that requires the collective effort of many parties to reach world-class accomplishments.
Training programs starting from an early age are seen as essential not only for strengthening technical skills but also for building character and a champion’s mentality. For instance, Taufik Hidayat, Liliyana Natsir, Lee Chong Wei, Carolina Marin, and many other legends started their athletic careers at a very young age. Chong Wei began at age eleven, Liliyana at nine, and even Taufik and Marin started at eight.
In addition to the SenengMinton Festival, Aice has long been involved in the development of young talent through various initiatives. Since 2021, the "15 Hari Aice Berbagi Sehat" program has been a commitment to support various sports activities, including the development of young football players, the development and competition of Wing Chun, and the provision of sports facilities, such as the multi-purpose field built at Pondok Pesantren Babussalam in North Lombok.
Aice believes that badminton has become one of the symbols of national pride and achievement in sports. Through the SenengMinton Festival, Aice hopes that this sport will gain further momentum in the development of young athletes and the continuation of Indonesia's tradition of excellence on the international stage.
“This is in line with the vision of a healthy life and sustainability initiated by the sports community,” said Sylvana.
“The SenengMinton Festival serves as an important learning space for aspiring young athletes to hone their sportsmanship, teamwork, and talent. Aice believes that these values will help form a generation that will not only excel in sports but also inspire their communities and lives in the future,” concluded Sylvana.
